Paimpol – Festival du Chant de Marin Friday 9th – Sunday 11th, August, 2013.
“To the islands”… What comes into mind but sea and sun, sandy beaches and swaying coconut palms, ukuleles and wahines… And who knows? You might run across all these on Paimpol harbour in 2013. But you might also be in for a few surprises, for among the islands are Tahiti and the West Indies, but also Corsica and Japan, Australia and Ushant, Ireland and Bréhat, not to forget Iceland and Cape Verde, or even the Île aux Coudres in the Gulf of Saint Lawrence, Quebec… A vast subject indeed, which the Festival intends to explore with no other ambition than sparking your imagination and filling Paimpol harbour with joy and contentment. Catch the Roaring Forties at various places around the dockside and at: Friday 10:45pm-11:45pm – On the vessel “Fée de L’Aulne” |

“Bie Daip” International Shanty Festival Friday 23rd – Sunday 25th August, 2013

With a variety of international artists performing on the main stage and in numerous other locations, including public places and open access terraces, with supporting events, such as boat trips with festival performances on board, with concerts of the invited international guests in the splendid Nicholaï Church on the Saturday night, the “Bie Daip” has become one of the audience’s favorites in the scale of Europe. The Roaring Forties have 9 x 25 minute concerts in various venues around the town; an hour-long cruise; and three opportunities to participate in singing with all the other groups:
